The first ESGF data node in Spain

Deployed in the context of the IS-ENES2 project, funded by the European Commision

1 minute read

The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) relies on a network of geographically distributed data and index nodes that store and provide data discovery services, respectively. The node deployed today by the Santander Meteorology Group at Universidad de Cantabria is the first ESGF node deployed in Spain to contribute to this international federation which, among other tasks, provides data storage support for the CMIP5 and CORDEX international initiatives. It is also ready to uptake the new CMIP6 simulations output.

The data node (http://data.meteo.unican.es) contents can be accessed through any of the ESGF index nodes. Try e.g. http://esgf-data.dkrz.de
